Computer Gaming

Yes, I would like to agree with Guru and Mak, so... don't download anything or surf while playing a game (like me :tongueout:). I had also those problems with ping a while ago

^ i dont

i close out almost all running processes and kill anything i dont need for the game, camera, media center, and such

i only have ff running while i am looking for a new private server lol ip's are long numbers, and i no good at remembering lol

but most of the private servers end in :28960 or :28961

My dog's name is The Deadly :tongueout:

Has anybody played Gears of War?
It's the newest Microsoft Studios PC game, even though it started as Xbox (i think)

Yes it did start on the XBOX 360. That was teh game that came with the Halo 3 Beta signup. I played it on the XBOX 360 but not the PC yet. It was a fun game to play.

^ i have played and beaten the 360 version of GoW (not god of war)

as for Cod4 it is actually running on directx 9, and not ten ^_^

yesterday i made a Sim again, i havent have one since i killed mine that was on the PS2

i like more of the building part then the sim controlling part

i dont have sim's 2 on my machien yet, but its at my friends, but so far its a two story house, they put in the cheat for money lol so i had a 100k

I want to make a bigger house now! ^_^

The Sims. I havent played that since it first came out. It was nice but i lost interest in it quick.

CoD4 i figured used DX9. DX10 really hasnt taken off as much as M$ would like. Plus it isnt worth the upgrade to a DX10 card unless you go big. Who ahs the $$ for that kind of upgrade?

I mean if you think about it yeah the 8600 line is cheap. But if i already have a 256MB card that performs jsut fine why get a 8600 series jsut to have DX10? That isnt a upgrade. There is the 320MB cards but still it isnt that big of a jump to make me spend the $$ to get them. The 640MB and the 768 are the good oens. But those are still expensive at this time.

ATM I have Sims 2 installed (and not playing it, hardly, except when I play it with my girlfriend, then it can get funny :tongueout:) And Hit And Run simpsons game, which is made for younger kids, but I'm playing it anyways.. and damn, I got stuck in one mission, I can't enter the damn shop

*imagines how a kid finds a way to enter a shop* And I can't enter the shop :|

Just to clear things up:
The Quake4 auto-run program will not work on Windows Vista no matter what you do.

But manually launching setup.exe from the folder (verses the autorun executable) works just fine.

Then just run the patcher, and be on your way

Cheers.

^ true

i only have a 8400 lol

the cheapest of the 8 series, but im happy with it, it was a major upgrade from my ati 9250 pro that i had, and is installed now im my mothers computer

my next upgrade is going to be a dual core processor

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ Processor ADA4200DAA5BV - 2.20GHz, 1MB Cache, 1000MHz (2000 MTs) FSB, Manchester, Dual-Core, OEM, Socket 939, Processor at TigerDirect.com

That? Nah... I'll be having at least this toy:
AMD AM2 Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core 6000+ 64-bit 3000MHz 2MB 1000MHz FSB 125W 90nm BOX

Or something stronger for the same cash cause I expect prise to drop by next summer  oh, and I hope I'll have enough money for 8800GT if 9xxx isn't out by then  + about 4GB of RAM on at least 800Mhz its gonna FLY

^ sarge, i have a 939 socket, i cant use am2 chips :frowning: i know i would like sometime more powerful, but ill have to wait until i find a better mobo then the one i have now
