Computer Gaming

Running game at low details is crime against game developers :tongueout: They are working hard on details, and at the end, you wont even get to see them  :tongueout:
Microsoft works hard on Vista and Office 2007 but not everyone is running that.:tongueout:

Plus if they only wanted high details then they would include low details.:tongueout:

At least i will play the game with low details instead of not supporting them and leaving it sit on a shelf for another 5 years and then buy it for a fraction of what it MSRP at.:joy:

So at least i am dumb enough to spend the $50 to buy a game now and support them for another game. Instead of games like Halo where i waited till i could buy it for $5.:??

That's what I'm doing.. not even bothering with Crysis for now

Me neither, Guru!

Addendum:

What Microsoft did with Office 2007 is called bad business plan, or not? They will now sell it for years

Halo. That is the game where I was blinded by pixel shaders on Radeon 9250 back in a day :grinning:

Not necessarily. If they keep to their plan we shall see Office 14 around the same time as we see Windows 7 in 2010. There is already talks of the beta for Office 14 in the works. (They are skipping 13 cause they are superstitious)

So it really could be a bad gameplan. Since they will have a new version out beofre many people go to 2007. But it is the same with Vista. Many people will still be on XP when Windows 7 gets released cause they dont like Vista and wont upgrade.

But that is another convos for another thread.:joy::lol:

Halo wasnt that bad. Back in 2001. I still think it had a good story line when i played thru it. Better than some games. Course they are churning out War games like there is no tomorrow. BF, CoD games are being released like they were a sports series.:tongueout:

I don't think anyone can say Microsoft has a bad business plan... while I'm the first to admit that their tech plans aren't the best, they are one of the biggest corporate entities in the history of the world economy - can't really say anything about their business plan, because they obviously know what they're doing when it comes to making money, and lots of it

okay i downloaded the crysis demo
however i dont seem to have any sound
does anyone know what that could be from?

Windows 7? How would that thing look like?

Are you sure that in-game volume is not zero?

Well it would look like a giant 7 at first. With a Windows frame around it. Hence why they would call it Windows 7. Just kidding. But seriously it shouldnt be to bad. They can only improve on the stuff they have now. Or so we hope.

It is either that or you have some serious issues with your sound drivers. First ImgBurn doesnt play sounds and now this.:lup:

I'm wondering which version of Windows we'll be able to use in 2020 :grinning:

Oh, I thought he had sound on the computer working :tongueout:

I think he does for some things. But it seems that the drivers are buggy. Since they work for most applications but they are not working for Crysis and ImgBurn. Which to me is very curious.

shhhhhh...

"in the "near" (far) future there was a company that developed software for computers, this companies name we no longer speak. It is against own "religion" (in linux). this company tried its best to push on to our people with its "Newest" (worst) Operating system of "light" (or death?). we tried it, at first they gave it out to us, and we had yet learned... our computers worked now, and they run well... however one day, this company they decided that we had to "Pay" (in souls) for all the earlier versions of there "OS" (soul-stealing device). We, as "people" (of linux) made our first and last stand against this company. we "all" (well not all) of us had made a journey to a "greater good" (a good thats greater). The company was weakened very much, however its strength and its "users" (slaves) were not going to end, they were not going to go away... to this day, the company still owns some of our people... some of our computers.... They still run "Windows" (of the
2020 aka WMSOYS*).

Hey Mak,
Thanks for the heads up
i downloaded the latest drivers and now everything seems to be working fine.

(i guess the drivers that came with the computer had issues)
thanx guys:brows::brows:

:nerd:

Hey I am not a nerd and a MVP for nothing. I knew there was a reason i liked PC's.

Glad it is working for you now Ronin. That matters more than anything.

thanks guys
well i finished the demo.
great game so far
i was able to play it fine on DX 10 top resolution (1280 * 800 i think) and medium quality.
it was kind of laggy on high. (didnt try very high)
saving and loading times were very quick only the loading at the beginning of the level took some time.(1 minute i think)
the only problem was in the cutscenes the voices didnt match sometimes.
but overall cool:smile::smile::smile:
