Wait…..Firefox 2 and 3? Can you explain more please?
Sure,
Firefox is currently in development split between two "branches" as we call them. The first branch is Firefox 2.0 and focuses on some things, and another branch has been called Firefox 3.0; with a focus on different things.
Firefox 2.0 will be released as an interim build, basically it will be a "filler" build until integration of the two branches is complete and they can be merged and shipped as Firefox 3.0.
Hope that clears things up; it's confusing, but it's efficient and gets things done.
Ah, thanks, that clears things up a bit. 🙂
