What is a recovery and repair disk
Major PC manufacturers no longer give customers a real Windows 7 installation DVD along with their purchase of a computer.
A Windows 7 installation DVD can be used to recover your PC, not just install a Windows 7 copy. The DVD has a “recovery center” that gives you options to Automated Recovery (attempts to fix automatically any errors found), System Restore (restores your computer to the last working state) or you can access a command-line for advanced recovery options.
Instead, customers are expected to create a recovery media themselves – on a CD, DVD or USB drive.
Your computer’s hard drive might have a recovery partition added by the manufacturer, but what happens when your PC or Windows isn’t working or you’ve lost the disks you had?
If you can’t boot into Windows or your PC isn’t working, only a bootable recovery and repair CD/DVD/USB can save you.

Please don’t ask for help below, it’ll get real cluttered real soon!
Open a support thread at https://neosmart.net/forums/ and we’ll help you resolve your problem ASAP.
Everything went fine until came option “load drivers” or “restore your comptuer using a system image that you created earlier” it has been loading that icon like for 30min. Should I reboot computer or wait?
Thanks!
Thank you . . . .
This was truly a BIG help! Somehow trashed my booting after trying to set up a second OS (even though I backed out of that).
So I tried to enter commands at the prompt using bcdedit, etc. as detailed in another site, since my install disk (!) kept saying it was incompatible with my installation (same as “Mark” above)! Having downloaded the 64 bit version as a torrent (took about 1/2 hour), and burning/mounting it to boot from, it automatically repaired my installation after a second boot!
Don’t understand why my installation disk was “incompatible” with its own creation, but…nevermind!
Unbelievable!
Thanks much for this! Microsoft should learn from your example.
no iso file
thanks worked great
Hello 🙂
I have downloaded and burned it into a disc..when i boot the disc,it loads files and then starts a normal repair thingy which says that this repair might run for over an hour but i continued it for almost 3 hrs..but nothing seemed to have happened..please help..m in trouble.. 🙁
P.S-after loading files it searches for windows installation and gives 2 choices..Image recovery(which i didnt make at all) and repair..which i did 6-7 times but nothing happened

We’re in the process of moving to a new server. The tracker will be down for a few hours!
Since I am an university student, they check our traffic to see if we download anything illegally. Would this be something I would get in trouble for?
Tracker still seems down – any ideas when it will be back up and running?
The tracker is back up and running now. We don’t foresee more downtime in the future, God willing. We’ve now moved to a much bigger and better server farm, everything should be much smoother from here-on out 🙂
how long does the start up repair take usually? mine has been running for about 26hours now . is that normal or is something wrong? ( tryin to fix boot error on an acer 5551 laptop, came with windows7 home premium, but never ever started correctly..didn’t get a recovery disc or an installation disc soo. i’m trying this… thanks for your response… Bless!
Thanks for this, I’m downloading it right now. A virus has made a friends laptop totally un-bootable and no recovery disc.I’m a Linux user, so I don’t have these problems
muchas gracias desde argentina 😀

Hi,
Thanks for this. However, I’m completely desperate because y desktop doesn’t boot from the dvd; my laptop does with no problem (and it’s xp!) but my desktop, which is the one that has the booting problem doesn’t – and I have no idea why! I’ve tried starting with F8, changing the order in the BIOS…
Please someone help if you can!
Thanks
JLT
Just wanted to thank you guys very much for the available files (Got both, just in case). You figure the manufacturers would be including this CD with the purchase of a new system, wonder why they do not…..
Cheers!!!
I downloaded the torrent and burned it, but it hangs on “Windows is loadig files…”.
The progress bar goes all the way across and hand when it’s about an inch long the second time across (if that makes any sense).
Do you have an MD5sum for the ISO so I can check to make sure it wasn’t corrupted at some point?
Hi!
Just so you know I mirrored 32bit version (runs on all) to rapidshare.
this text file contains the real rapidshare link.
http://rapidshare.com/files/426203046/win7-recovery-32bit.txt
Thanks
I reinstalled my win7 x64 just because a stipud problem that ”bootmgr is missing”…
thx much,u r the mam
FWIW, here are the md5sum for the 2 ISOs when I download them from the neosmart bit torrent links:
[Path] / filename MD5 sum
——————————————————————————-
[L:\video\process\]
Windows 7 32-bit Repair Disc.iso 100% ed53ff0a3acb103a9f6137f76c60e2ff
Windows 7 64-bit Repair Disc.iso 100% f1f6e88c2c658981de65873a4d236c93
Also, this does not match the md5sums for the supposedly same ISO from CyberNetNews.com and there are other torrents claiming to be the same thing that also don’t match the neosmart torrents.
Got the dreaded “BOOTMGR is missing” error on startup after adding a second hard drive and reformatting it. I swear I didn’t touch the C: drive, but the BOOTMGR got hosed. Followed directions from the “How-To Geek” website. Windows recovery disk I had made a day earlier crashed when I tried to use it. I downloaded the Windows 7 Boot Image from here, burned a CD, and fixed my problem within a couple of minutes. Thanks a lot!
Hi all!
First of all please apologize me for my bad english.
I bought a samsung N150 netbook before last couple of months. It’s simple and work well till i installed ubuntu. Basically i had two partition C: and D:, to install ubuntu i format the D partition and divide it into three and installed a ubuntu inside the new partition, (i used Gparted software to format the hard while i was boot ubutu from USB).
Thats all i got problem in windows boot. I unable to boot windows. There after once when i used ubuntu from usb i delete all the partition by mistakenly. Now i’ve installed windows xp in my N150, but this is not like windows starter. Now i lost the widows7 starter, which is come with my netbook. All i need to know is, how can i get windows starter which is come with my netbook, how can i get the 15 gb recovery partition and samsung recovery solution4,or atleast how can i found the original windows7 starter and the software which is installed with it.
Please help me i couldn’t come out from this problem last couple of week, i’m really suffering by this problem. If you help me to sort out this trouble, i’ll really grateful to you.
Yours truely.
azarahamed.
Hi all
install.wim is not included in the recovery iso for both x32 & x64. it is one of the essential file for recovery. anybody has the install.wim for both for download? thkz
thank you very much…. More power to you
anyone ideas much appreciated…
i have a win7 64 installed in my dell1520 laptop.
i dont have a video graphic driver installed yet on my machine..
can this system recovery disk help me on my problem?
thanks
The tracker is down again, at least this is what utorrent tells me.
BTW, why don’t you allow DHT, peer exchange and Local peer discovery? It would fasten the download and it would worked even with dead tracker.
Hi Nick,
The tracker is most-definitely up and running. Check your firewall or with your sysadmin to see if the tracker port is blocked.
I see, sorry about that. Most probably a problem on my side 🙂
Hello,
I got a different problem: I would love to createa a virtual box version of my current windows 7 installation to test some software on this virtual version before I will install (and maybe crash) the software on my running system.
Can anybody tell me how I’m able to create a virtual version of my running windows 7? I guess I need an windows installation cd/iso to do so, but as Mahmoud Al-Qudsi very vell described I didn’t get any cd with my very expensive laptop..and a recovery disc won’t help to do so..
I found a software to create an ISO out of an recovery cd + installation: http://winfuture.de/XPIsoBuilder but it’s not for windows7..
Can anyone help me please?
Thanks a lot!
Peter
Used both 32 & 64 downloads on windows 7 — NADA. Still getting flashing cursor top left of screen. What to do–what to do now PLEASE?????
Thank you! There is another website around where the guy posted his Repair discs but they aren’t right. They won’t boot. I got your torrent link and downloaded with limwire, burned in a minute and then fixed my Win 7 64 bit laptop that wasn’t booting. I still have no idea what happened or why. I popped the drive out of my laptop and used a USB adapter to take a look at it with another machine, all files were there, the drive was fine and there was no virus. Just somehow some windows stuff got corrupted. My only choice from my ASUS disks was a wipe and install. I couldn’t lose my files (that I knew were there and the drive was fine). So, after a few runs and reboots with the repair stuff, my system is working great. Thanks so much!
Hey Happy Now, glad it worked for ya. We were the first site to host these discs and the only ones with the real deal. A lot of copycats have sprung up, but NeoSmart is where the real goods are at 🙂
Please help me!! I have a question I’m not really entirely sure if I use the windows 7 x32bit for my laptop or the windows vista x32 bit for my laptop, I just recently tried the windows 7 x64 bit for my laptop and it worked for a while but then it says something about me using the wrong windows or something. I have a HP Pavilion dv2911us which orginally uses windows vista, but then it was upgraded to windows 7. So I was wondering if it is the window 7 or vista that I will have to use. My laptop now only has a blue screen then reboots eveytime. You can see I don’t really know stuff about computers lol
Thank You Very Very Much
Thanks very much.
What a life saver.
David.
Thank you very much. Yo también me he beneficiado de los discos de recuperación para windows 7 y windows vista y aunque ahora estamos en crisis, le agradezco mucho su trabajo. Tiene mis bendiciones.
Un saludo
Miguel
Thank you so much, this will be very helpful for me and friends in the future “Dios le pague” XD
Have followed your instructions for downloading Windows 7 recovery disk and I am getting nothing with utorrent. Is the site down?
Thanks for the links to the ISO’s.
I have always wondered why some people don’t receive Windows CD/DVD’s with their new computer (seems like it should be a mandatory part of buying a machine). Just the other day I was working on a ladies new computer. I looked through the box only to discover in the manual that you had to create your own Recovery CD’s from within Windows.
The problem is that most people don’t look through the manual, and thus are unable to fix their computer when something goes awry (since they have no CD/DVD’s to work from).
As has probably been mentioned – make sure to create this Recovery CD ASAP since you will lose the ability to do so once your computer won’t start (unless you have a helpful friend with a working computer) :]
Thanks alot, used in conjunction with rescatux, this is a very handy tool for maintaining dualboot setups! 😀 cheers
I’d donate if I could, alas I am broke as I work waay too much for free (know the feeling? 😉
Let me know if you need a hand in regards to visual/audio design, will be glad to help

I bought a Toshiba Satellite A505-S6980 last year at the end of October and nine days on November 9, after the warranty expired, it went bad. I run the repair program and the result is that: ?Window cannot repair my laptop automatically.?
I do not have a recovery disc and I am not sure if I run the back up program. I do not dare to run the ?Toshiba Recovery Wizard? that will erase everything and rewrite the program before I explore other alternatives. Do you have any suggestions to help me repair my laptop?
The diagnostic and repair results are:
