What is a recovery and repair disk
Major PC manufacturers no longer give customers a real Windows 7 installation DVD along with their purchase of a computer.
A Windows 7 installation DVD can be used to recover your PC, not just install a Windows 7 copy. The DVD has a “recovery center” that gives you options to Automated Recovery (attempts to fix automatically any errors found), System Restore (restores your computer to the last working state) or you can access a command-line for advanced recovery options.
Instead, customers are expected to create a recovery media themselves – on a CD, DVD or USB drive.
Your computer’s hard drive might have a recovery partition added by the manufacturer, but what happens when your PC or Windows isn’t working or you’ve lost the disks you had?
If you can’t boot into Windows or your PC isn’t working, only a bootable recovery and repair CD/DVD/USB can save you.

OMG LIFE SAVE THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!,
My laptop was frozed at start up logo,
I put the disk in and press power button and it went straight to windows
it this really work…ill download it and try to my laptop coz my boot manager is missing always appearing on my screen…knidly help me to solve my problems….thanks a lot if somebody could share his/her knowledge that would help me to solve it….
Hi there. After days of struggle, I came across your web page. I followed the instructions and created a Repair Disc for Windows 7 64-bit.
here is a synopsis of my issue:
I have a brand new Satellite L650-BT2N23 with pre-installed Windows 7 Home premium edition. Windows 7 Updates doesn’t work. I am not using a network. It’s a stand-alone lap top. When I try to download Windows update, I get the message that they were not installed due to these errors: 80073712; 800B0100.
I have tried several fixes suggested by microsoft, but they didn’t solve a thing. Now I believe that the next step would be to restore the laptop to its out-of-box state, which I am hesitant to do, as that would mean loosing all the work and files I have now on the computer.
Here are my questions:
1)Would the Repair Disc be good to fix this issue, or is it only to fix startup issues?
2) If the disc could solve the isseu without any loss of files and software, could you please tell me how to proceed with using it? (do I need to use it as a boot up disc, or use it after I start windows? What are the steps for using the Disc Repair?
Thanks for any advice/comments.
oh man your such a life saver. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!
oh, maybe not. what i did was create recovery discs from my laptop… i inserted disc 1 and started windows restore, and after a while it asked me to insert disc 2. however i do not have a disc 2, so now my laptop wont work.. i tried downloading this and burning a cd.. but it doesnt seem to fix the problem 🙁 please help..
I downloaded the Win7, 64 it iso file and made a bootable CD from it. However, when I booted, it was talking about Win 98 and finally failed because it could not find any FAT files. What is this about? I need Windows 7, 64 bit and I have NTSF file types.
Thanks
IT reads the dvd it comes up as windows loading files but then it boots up vista
and all that comes up is the mouse…
Any help would be appreciated the 😀
just tried the third cd/dvd and I’m still getting the message and my laptop would boot from the CD. What am I doing wrong ? Dell precision M4500 running on Windows 7
Many thanks!!
Toshiba laptop had a failing drive. Before I sent it to Toshiba for repair, I used Easeus Todo Backup to image the drive. When the laptop was returned, it was back to OEM install and all my stuff was gone just as I expected. I ran the Easeus Todo restore and restored all my stuff. Except it wouldn’t boot.
“No bootable media found”
I had no install disc so I went hunting and found your Recovery Disc download. Burned the CD, booted my laptop and ran Startup Repair. Everything is now A-OK thanks to your generous postings.

My win 7 64-bit disk is dead. I only have my 32-bit disk. Does this site have the 64-bit disk available? I don’t need a key obvioiusly.
What is the md5 for the x86 version .iso supposed to be? I was not able to find one on the download site.
I don have dvd burner so i decided to use my pendrive to boot startup repair i just extract the iso file using winrar into my pendrive coz my laptop cannot start due to stupid invalid boot.ini file then i open command prompt instead of startup repair bcoz its dint repair the problem occur.i type these following command:
BootRec/Fixboot
BootRec/FixMbr
BootRec/RebuildBCD
later then i restarted my laptop it has worked like a charm
hey guys.. ive downloaded cursorfx 2.0 plus,i installed it.. theres a crack but it needs something about changing SID so.. i went to run and i typed sysprep.exe after that you need to restart it so i restarted it … it cant start up now!..
@Matthew (Oct. 27th, 2010 at 8:43 am)
Sorry, but you are incorrect. install.wim is an essential file for the installation of Windows, not for recovery. You need click the repair option, not install.
God bless you !
I have lost until i find you.I cannot startup my computer. I have a logonUI.exe bad image error.
I download Windows 7 Recovery Disc 32-Bit (x86) Edition and i repair my laptop sony vaio.
Thank you very,very very MUCH!
thank you soo much. I am goning to try it tomorow when my brother brings laptop back. I have downloaded it in like 4 min :D.
I think if I recall correctly, some time ago (June 2010) I tried the 32-bit W7 repair torrent (as per your web page’s instructions) and when I needed it recently, it simply wouldn’t run regardless of how I tried running it, eg; insert prior to booting and even tried using W7’s backup and repair window to use ‘your’ referenced disc. Nevertheless, today I downloaded the version 2.2 of the 32-bit W7 repair disc and it bunrt about a 1/4 ich onto a DVD-R (12+KB). Honestly, I’m sure someone appreciates the kindness of a free download that works around W7’s inability to burn a system repair disc, just not me (yet).
Steven, use ImgBurn: http://j.mp/ImgBurn
Could anyone tell me how to get that to boot off a USB Flashdrive. I’m trying to recover Windows on a netbook.
If my notebook has recovery partition, could i use “Recovery Disc” or i should use my own recovery partition for recovery my system?
To Nick: try to find WinSetupFromUsb utility. It can help you create bootable usb flash drive
I followed all the instructions however when I boot from CD it won’t restore or fix anything. I’m seeing two folders and a file on the Disc and nothing works. When I try restoring it says it can’t find image or it can’t find a earlier working point. When I try to load drivers it’s saying it can’t find file. What can i do to make it work? What am I doing wrong?
Just wanted to say thanks! Worked for me. Wrote the following 3 commands in CMD to get it working:
BootRec /Fixboot
BootRec /FixMbr
BootRec /RebuildBCD
This worked great on helping me recover a neighbor’s laptop! Thanks!!!
hey ty for the recovery but only one thing… my laptop crashed and lost the os… this was the blessing when i found this… and now when i do the whole disk thing it tells me to pick a image point and i cant find anything…. what should i do
my laptop’s given mr like 9 blue screens in a row, i’ve tried the default system restoration from safe mode like four times but the problem just wont go away, i’m hoping that the image you’ve uploaded will help.
Thanks in advance
Damn Decent of them eh what ?
Not so damn decent of them to charge people who had already been conned by their Hype over crappy vista to pay for what should have been a service pack !
If they had any damned decency they would have given all Vista retail purchasers a free upgrade.

good evening!
I downloaded the torrent file, which i expanded afterwards. unfortunately a .iso file wasnt included…only two folders (boot, source) and a file(bootmgr).
Am I supposed to burn these on a CD or do i need something else to create a complete recovery cd?
Please help !
just got my new laptop and crashed it right away…no the bootmgr is missing!
thanks a lot !
dan
is this (win 7 recovery disc) is same as ‘system repaire disc’ that we can create from win7 using menu “Start>All Program>Maintenance>Create a System Repair Disc”….?
Thanks man you saved me to going to the computer shop. u also saved me money. thank you sooooo much u fixed my laptop.love u man!
IF you use XXClone to clone to an SSD, and the Source disk is the “C” drive, it will clone perfectly. However, when cloning, if you make the source disk “E” drive, you will have to use this Win7 32 bit Repair Disk. Any cloning problem, with incorrect volume or boot info will be corrected.
Thank you very much i hope this repair disk can solve my problem. My win 7 just crashed after i make dual boot with win xp
Gardenplant:
An .iso file is a disk image — specifically a CD or a DVD “image”.
That means it’s a file that is a bit-for-bit copy of a CD or DVD. You need to burn that file as an image to a CD or DVD. Don’t ‘expand’ it; don’t copy or write the file to a CD or DVD — most DVD/CD programs can do it. Sometimes the option will be ‘burn a disk image’ or ‘write a disk image’. You are specifically NOT creating a new disk or project.
HTH.

I would like to donate, but your links are not working for that. Also, please note that your utorrent link is not quite right. I had to go to utorrent to get a good download. Thank you so much. I am making these disks for friends computers which have not crashed yet, but I appreciate all of your efforts! You Rock!
So i burn the files into the disc and when i put it in my laptop nothing appear like nothing happen at all, i pressed f8 and nothing pop up…… its just show me the back screen *operating has not found*
if anyone have another please help me im thankful for it
jazakAllah. I am able to restore Windows.
My Problem Specification: I had dual boot Win & Ubuntu (as Wubi). By some reasons the bootloader (GRUB) is over-written or corrupted. Then neither Win nor Linux was booting. I used your iso image, burn it on CD, boot from CD, selected command prompt and typed “fdisk /mbr” (without quotation) and restart. Now Win is recovered. Next I would try to recover Ubuntu (Linux). Probably I would try your EasyBCD tool. Thanks.
