It has become harder and harder to get recovery or installation disks for your computer as major PC manufacturers no longer distribute a recovery or repair CD/DVD with your purchase.
A Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 installation DVD can be used to recover your computer. You can use it to access many recovery options, use System Restore and automatically fix boot errors or blue screens.
But instead of giving customers real recovery CDs and DVDs with their purchase of a computer (like notebooks, laptops, desktop computers etc.), PC manufacturers (like Dell, HP, Samsung, Acer, Lenovo, Toshiba and others) usually require you to make the recovery media by yourself.

Tried to dual boot windows 8 and linux mint 14…partitioned c drive for space for linux. Now my recovery partition is missing for disk management but easeUS partition says its there. When I try to do factory reset it says files are missing. Can this be fixed?

I downloaded your recovery disk for Windows 8 system. After running and trying most of the options listed I get the message, file:\Boot\BCD, error code Oxc0000098. Also when using gparted is shows the main drive as unallocated and it will not allow me to extend.

Can you transfer the installation to a new HDD, original one is defective someone dropped the damn laptop.

I am trying to create a bootable USB from the easy Windows 8 RE ISO on linux using WinUSB. When I boot I get a message saying the boot manager or something is missing. When I use WinUSB for a Windows 8 ISO however, I don’t seem to have this problem (it will automatically boot).

This link is to neosmart’s website. THIS ONLY APPLYS IF YOU ARE RUNNING WINDOWS 8 OR 8.1. If you scroll down to the section for windows 8 and 8.1, it states “If you have Windows 8, not 8.1, follow Create the disk as a CD/DVD” (Meaning USB boot will not work for windows 8). It also states “If you have Windows 8.1, not 8.0, follow Create the disk as a USB drive. For Windows 8.1 you can only use USB drivers to create the disk.” See if this fixes your problem. Funny, the guy who avoided the question this whole time must be stupid. I found this article after searching for 5 min.
